Who we are and what this policy covers
This Privacy Policy describes how Upstart Loans USA ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you visit upstartloansusa.com (the "Site"). It applies to the Site only. When you follow a link to a lender, loan marketplace or any other third party, that party's privacy policy governs what it collects, including any loan application you submit there. We do not take loan applications and do not collect Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, income documents or credit reports.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (financial account numbers, government identifiers, precise geolocation, health information) and ask that you not send it to us.
How we use information
- To operate, secure and improve the Site, including measuring which pages and calculators are used.
- To attribute referrals to lenders and marketplaces so that we are paid under our affiliate agreements (see our Advertiser Disclosure).
- To respond to your messages and correction reports.
- To send a newsletter if you subscribed, and to comply with law.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Depending on your state's definition, the use of third-party analytics and affiliate tracking cookies may be considered "sharing" or "targeted advertising"; see Your rights for how to opt out.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy, to correct or delete it, to opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. These rights are provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA and by comprehensive privacy laws in a growing number of other states (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island as of their effective dates).

You may designate an authorized agent. If we deny a request you may appeal by replying to our response. We do not sell personal information for money and have not done so in the preceding 12 months; we may "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising through analytics and affiliate cookies, which you can opt out of via the cookie controls above or the Global Privacy Control signal.
Residents outside the United States: the Site is directed to US residents. If you access it from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or elsewhere, you may have rights under local law; contact us and we will respond in accordance with it.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for money. We may "share" identifiers (cookie IDs, IP address, device information) with analytics and affiliate-network providers for cross-context behavioral advertising and attribution, which California and several other state laws let you opt out of. To opt out:
- Browser signal: turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser or extension; we treat it as a valid opt-out request for that browser.
- Cookie settings: decline non-essential cookies in the consent banner where shown, or block third-party cookies in your browser.
- Request: email [privacy email] with the subject "Do not sell or share", or use [web form link]. No account is required and we do not discriminate against you for opting out.
Opting out stops sharing for targeted advertising; it does not affect the lender or marketplace you choose to apply with, which is governed by their own privacy policies.
How long we keep information, and how we protect it
Server logs are retained for [N days]; analytics data for [N months]; correspondence for as long as needed to resolve it and then for our records; newsletter data until you unsubscribe. We use HTTPS, access controls and reputable hosting providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
